Had a bad day at work. My normal schedule of working just mornings was re-adjusted about 2 weeks ago. This other dude that works at my kiosk is flakly and works two jobs. Sometimes he asks me to switch with him, which for the most part I'm ok with because I'm boring and have nothing going on in my life. Anyway after about three months of this two weeks ago the higher ups decided that they'd just schedule me tuesday and thursday nights. Working nights kinda sucks. It's super boring. Closing the register and making the nightly deposit is way more complicated than opening. It eats up the best part of the day as well. 2pm-9pm no thankie. Plus i wind up also opening the next morning. Anyway this monday, after work I got a text message from dude asking me if i could work morning instead of night(when i was scheduled). 'Sure' I text him back. Long story short, I wind up both opening and closing. It was pretty lame. Since I closed the night before and counted out $500, I didn't think it's that important to re-count it again in the morning and started doing the bussiness of opening the store. within 15 minute of opening my big boss shows up and says she's gonna count the safe. It's off 5 bucks. I put and extra five in the register when making change no biggie. Wrong. She also notices a open candy bar wrapper. I say "oh that's probably just some MOS thing, damaged product". Looks to me that someone just ate a candy bar. Would you know anything about that? UGh. After work they called me into the back office and give me the rundown. I lied, falsified records, and came up short on my drawer. They asked me a hundred questions. I told them pretty much everything I know. I said stealing food is wide-spread it could be anybody else that works there. I try and tell people when they start"hey don't do that, guy" but we get shuffled in and out of places i don't know half the people there. I named everyone who has ever worked with me and given me a break. I figure they can't fire everyone right? They made me a sign a paper, and told me if anything like this happened again I'm fired on the spot. Horray retail. TL;DR version. I'm a snitch, and may be getting fired soon. |
